This gif and this little tiny sliver of a scene is hitting me on a much deeper emotional right now than it did during the episode, which is probably because in this form I’m really able to see the nuances of Kurt’s face as he spots Blaine standing in the doorway.

Kurt’s emotions are so palpable in this scene, and one of these days I’m going to find Chris Colfer and seriously thank him for playing Kurt as complex and nuanced as he does.  Because when Kurt see’s Blaine?  The expression on his face isn’t just reflecting happiness over the fact that his boyfriend is there for Valentines Day to sing to him (though I know that happiness is present as well).   What he is feeling is relief.  

And not just relief that he doesn’t have to be alone on Valentines Day - because irregardless about how you feel about the character of Karofsky, Kurt was obviously shaken up and not okay after their earlier encounter.  So when he sees Blaine his anxiety is, at least for the moment, alleviated.  Because Blaine - his best friend, the person he is deeply in love with, and moreover, the person who he trusts more than anything and has always been there to help comfort him when he felt like he had no where else to go - is there.   In my opinion, this must be the moment that Kurt feels like he can finally breathe again.  

Because Blaine is back, and because of that?  Kurt knows everything will be okay, eventually.
